How it all began

Julia Isabel Zurek de Ardila, known by family and friends as "Julie", demonstrated that by leading a family, a better world can be built. Remembered for placing her own family consistently at the forefront, the family became the center of Julie's life’s work.

Professional Life

Professionally, Julie was recognized for her tenacity and admirable discipline. As a radio journalist for RCN Radio, she remained up-to-the-minute on current events, conducting rigorous research until she got to the bottom of the matter, and persistently delivering her stories with unparalleled eloquence and authority.

Women's Issues

Most importantly, Julie recognized and defended issues of women’s dignity throughout her life, recognizing the impact and greatness of an empowered woman. Motivated by the suffering and pain of the women she saw in situations of discrimination and vulnerability, Julie fought to protect and rescue the dignity of young adolescents who suffered from sexual abuse. Her unwavering care and protection of the vulnerable women in her family was also a constant throughout her life.

Creating Impact

A model to follow, Julie inspired us to create Julie Foundation, an initiative that promises to defend women in situations of vulnerability in her hometown of Cartagena in order to empower them and improve the society as a whole.
