Julie Intervention Model
Julie Foundation’s operational model seeks to break poverty cycles in girls and adolescents through the empowerment of women as a central element to drive their development and prevent teen pregnancy. Throughout our initial investigation, we analyzed 4 main factors that are present in the girls’ environment and prevent them from developing to their full potential. These factors are related to the individual, the family, the community and the community’s social environment.
Through our intervention model, the girls receive and participate in community changemaker activities, academic reinforcement, life project guidance, family strengthening initiatives, psychological follow-up sessions, and recreational events including sports and theater. Each component constitutes an essential step to achieving the integral growth of our beneficiaries.

Psychological Follow-up
Every girl who joins the Foundation goes through a strict psychological follow-up that includes regular sessions with the psychosocial team. Each meeting provides the girls with a safe environment to talk about their problems while strengthening their soft skills. All beneficiaries receive one-on-one monitoring based on their clinical history.
Changemakers
The Foundation’s group of Changemakers (known as Julies), consists of a group of girl scouts who use the knowledge they’ve obtained through our workshops in their daily lives and spread the message within their community. Each girl goes through the process of building their personal rights and self-esteem. The purpose of the Changemakers is to spread the Foundation’s message to other members of the community and to carry out activities that promote social development and family integration.
Life Project Guidance
To complement their Psychological Follow-up sessions and Changemakers initiatives, Julies receive one-on-one guidance to establish their life project, using their strengths, capacities and dreams to determine the path that most aligns with their professional and personal fulfillment.
Academic Reinforcement
Girls who enter the Foundation also participate in extracurricular Academic Reinforcement sessions focused on strengthening their academic skills and study methods. Under this model, Julie Foundation hopes that the girls will improve their school performance and gain access to higher education opportunities in the future.
Family Strengthening
Julie Foundation’s Parenting School offers the community a learning space with parenting guidance that aims to positively influence their daughters’ development. Each parent attends workshops focused on strengthening their psychosocial growth in, an endeavour that can significantly boost each girl’s progress.
Sports and Recreation
This initiative provides opportunities for community integration through activities focused on sports, culture and social initiatives. Girls attended by the Foundation assume leadership positions where they are responsible for organizing activities that seek to strengthen relations between members of their community and foster spaces for growth for all its inhabitants.
